Clinical Background: A 51-year-old patient who is para two (two vaginal deliveries) was referred with a CT scan showing a large right ovarian cyst measuring about 8cm with normal tumour markers. The patient had been complaining of lower back pain.
Procedure: The patient underwent a laparoscopic removal of the cyst and the ovary. The cyst was placed in a laparoscopic bag and removed without any spillage.
Histopathology: Confirmed a benign dermoid cyst (mature cystic teratoma).
Postoperative Recovery: Patient recovered well with no concerns.
