History: 47-year-old patient who is para 2 (two vaginal deliveries) presented with heavy periods and an ultrasound showing a 5.4cm fibroid distorting and endometrium.
A MyoSure resection of the submucosal component of the fibroid was performed. The patient re-presented three months following the procedure with pain and vaginal bleeding. Examination showed a large necrotic mass in the vagina which was removed in theatre under general anaesthesia. Patient recovered well.
