Symptoms: 50 year old lady who had two vaginal deliveries was referred with heavy vaginal bleeding causing tiredness and affecting her quality of life.
Diagnosis: Pelvic ultrasound showed 4 centimetre fibroids inside the womb (uterus).
Procedure: Minimally invasive procedure was performed under general anaesthetic using a small device called Myosure to remove the fibroid from within the womb saving the patient from a more invasive procedure hysterectomy.
Outcome: The procedure took only half an hour and her fibroids were removed completely. The patients went home the same day with excellent recovery.
