Large Ovarian Fibroma

Background: 59 year old referred with ultrasound showing large uterine fibroid.

Investigation: CT Scan large uterine fibroids. Raised tumour marker CA125 at 85.

Treatment: Laparoscopic hysterectomy (keyhole surgery). Removal of both tubes and ovaries. Frozen section in theatre confirming benign tumour of ovary (Fibroma).

Histology:Left ovarian mass => Benign Fibroma
Endometrial hyperplasia with no atypia. Normal right tube ovary
Uterus and Cervix => Normal cervix, uterine fibroids

Outcome: Patient recovered well. Reviewed at 6 weeks post operatively with no concerns.
