Large Multiple Uterine Fibroids and Endometriosis.

Clinical Background: 45-year-old nulliparous patient presented with abdominal pain and an ultrasound showing a significantly enlarged uterus with a volume of 213cc and multiple uterine fibroids.

Procedure: Hand-assisted laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomy (the cervix was preserved), bilateral salpingectomy (both tubes were removed) and excision of endometriosis from peritoneum over the rectum. 

Histopathology: Histopathology confirmed benign fibroids and endometriosis.

Recovery: Patient recovered well with no postoperative concerns. The patient will continue to have cervical screening tests every five years.
