Clinical Background: 50-year-old patient who is para one (one vaginal delivery). Ultrasound showed a large uterus measuring up to 14cm with a 7.5cm fibroid in addition to other smaller fibroids. The patient was known to have the fibroids for many years and they have caused bleeding.
Procedure: Total laparoscopic hysterectomy, morcellation of the fibroid in an Espinar bag and bilateral salpingectomy (tubes removed).
Histopathology: Confirmed benign adenomyosis and benign fibroids.
Recovery: Patient recovered well with no concerns.
