Background: 54-year-old patient who is Para 2 (1 vaginal delivery, 1 caesarean section). The patient had a previous NovaSure endometrial ablation. The patient was also diagnosed with breast cancer requiring chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The patient was referred with abdominal pain and intercourse. An ultrasound showed an enlarged fibroid uterus.
Surgery: The patient underwent total laparoscopic hysterectomy (removal of both uterus and cervix), removal of both ovaries and tubes, and uterosacral ligament fixation to support the top of the vagina.
Histology: Histology confirmed benign fibroids and benign cyst of the left ovary.
Recovery: The patient recovered well and has not reported any postoperative concerns.
