OASIS Clinic

The Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injuries (OASIS) Clinic, located at The Canberra Hospital is dedicated to supporting women who have sustained a vaginal or anal sphincter injury after childbirth. Dr Gailani is committed to delivering best practice in patient care. To continuously improve the resources available at the OASIS Clinic, Dr Gailani explores procedures used internationally.

In May 2016 Dr Gailani completed the Endoanal and Pelvic Floor Ultrasound Masterclass presented by Mr Abdul Sultan and Dr Renee Thaker, both international leaders in this field. The workshop took place at globally recognised, expert faculty, Croydon University Hospital in Surrey, United Kingdom.

The workshop provided Dr Gailani with specialist skills in all aspects of pelvic floor and anal endosonography. Obstetric trauma is a major cause of faecal incontinence in women and anal endosonography is an established gold standard in the diagnosis of sphincter defects.

Abdul Sultan and Ranee Thakar are consultant urogynaecologists who are internationally renowned as experts in obstetric trauma.
